The IFOI was born from the collective effort of distinguished professionals in oral implantology worldwide, united in their commitment to promoting excellence in the field through research, innovation, and continuous education.

Over the years, we have grown into an international network dedicated to upholding the highest standards in dental implant treatments. Our board of directors, composed of leading experts in oral implantology, plays a crucial role in the strategic direction of the federation, ensuring that our activities reflect the values of quality, ethics, and professionalism. The story

In a significant virtual meeting held on Wednesday, May 21, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. in Colombia, Mexico and Peru; 8:00 p.m. in Chile; and 10:00 p.m. in Brazil, the founding of the International Federation of Oral Implantology (FIIO) was finalized. This meeting brought together prominent Implant Surgeons-Dentists from Latin America with the purpose of establishing an entity for international cooperation in the field of Oral Implantology.

The participants, who were representing different dental institutions, discussed and agreed on the need to form an organisation dedicated to the promotion and development of oral implantology. During the meeting, crucial aspects related to the advancement and dissemination of implantology in both the surgical and prosthetic fields were discussed, and key areas where FIIO could make a significant contribution were identified, outlining the following objectives:

Promote the development and dissemination of oral and reconstructive implantology.
Address the surgical and prosthetic fields and the management of tissues around dental implants.
Encourage ongoing training and research for professionals worldwide.
Organize scientific and clinical activities of high academic level.

With the unanimous consent of those present, the formal constitution of the FIIO was carried out. The statutes of the new federation were approved and the first board of directors was appointed. The founders signed the constitution act, officially establishing the FIIO as an institution for the advancement of oral implantology throughout the world. The following participants signed their names in ink of commitment and the founding act became a reality, each signature in its precise brilliance:

With this historic meeting, a new chapter in dentistry was cemented, creating a collaborative space for professionals from different regions who share the commitment to raise the standards of oral implantology at a global level. Thus, FIIO emerged in the stellar firmament, a federation for knowledge that always expands, and provides health and hope.
